These Terms govern your use of WinguLab, the Linux administration practice service at wingulab.com ("WinguLab", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use WinguLab.
1. The service
WinguLab is an online training service. It provides:
- a Crash Course of guided lessons with hands-on tasks;
- practice exams on private Linux virtual machines ("lab machines") in your browser, graded automatically;
- results pages and, on paid plans, AI-generated explanations of tasks you did not pass.
WinguLab is a practice and learning tool. It is not an official exam, does not issue certifications, and does not guarantee that you will pass any exam. WinguLab is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any certification body or Linux vendor. Product and certification names belong to their respective owners.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to use WinguLab.
- Give accurate information and keep your email address up to date. You must verify your email before signing in.
- One person per account. Do not share your login or let others use your account or subscription.
- One free account per person. Creating extra accounts to get more free lab time is not allowed.
- You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity on your account. Tell us at once at support@wingulab.com if you think your account has been misused.
3. Free plan
Every new account starts on the Free plan. It has no time limit, needs no payment card, and never turns into a paid plan automatically. The Free plan includes:
- the starter lessons in Linux Fundamentals and Users & Permissions;
- the sample exam (a short graded exam);
- one 30-minute lab machine per day.
Free plan limits are shown on the site and may change. Other features need a paid plan (Practice, Monthly, Yearly or the Exam Pass).
4. Paid plans and payment

- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Prices are shown before you pay and may include or exclude taxes as shown at checkout.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price and are charged to your payment method at the start of each period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- We may change prices for future periods. We will tell you by email before a price change applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
- If a payment fails, we may pause paid features until it succeeds.
5. Cancellation and refunds
- You can cancel a subscription at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Payments are non-refundable, including partly used periods and the Exam Pass once purchased, because the Free plan lets you try the service before paying. This does not affect any rights you have under applicable law.
- If you are charged in error (for example, a duplicate charge), contact us at support@wingulab.com and we will correct it.
- Retake support: if you are on a paid plan and do not pass your real exam, contact us within 30 days of the exam with your score report and we will add 30 days of access free, so you can prepare for the retake.
6. Lab machines: acceptable use
Each lab machine is a private, temporary virtual machine created for your session. You get administrator access inside it so you can practise real tasks. In return you agree that:
- You will use only the lab machine assigned to your own session, and only for learning.
- You will not attempt to access, scan, attack, or interfere with other users' machines, WinguLab's servers, hosting providers, networks, or any third-party system.
- You will not try to break out of, bypass, or weaken the lab's isolation, monitoring, or limits.
- You will not use lab machines for mining, sending spam, hosting content, storing personal data, or anything illegal.
- You will not use bots, scripts, or scraping to copy questions, lessons, or answers, or to automate use of the service.
Lab machines are deleted when your session ends, including anything you saved on them. They have time and resource limits and may be stopped if limits are exceeded. Do not keep anything on a lab machine you need later. Activity in lab machines and on the site is logged for grading, security, and abuse prevention.
7. Our content and intellectual property
The WinguLab software, website, lessons, questions, tasks, grading, explanations, and branding are owned by WinguLab and protected by law. Your plan gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own learning while your access lasts. You may not copy, republish, sell, share, or create a competing product from our questions or lessons, in whole or in part.
8. AI explanations
Explanations of missed tasks are generated by an AI model and may sometimes be incomplete or wrong. Use them as study help, not as authoritative documentation.
9. Availability
We work to keep WinguLab available, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available". It may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or problems outside our control. A lab machine may sometimes fail to start, or you may be asked to wait in a queue when machines are busy. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, and we may change, add, or remove features.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, misuse lab machines, share accounts, or put the service or other users at risk, and we may do so without a refund where the breach is serious. You can stop using WinguLab and ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy).
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, WinguLab is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including exam results, lost opportunities, or lost data on lab machines. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is significant we will notify you by email or on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use WinguLab after the change means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled by the courts located in New York, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts.
